The moment the Great East Japan Earthquake struck on March 11, 2011, I was at a workplace in Tokyo. All trains stopped due to the earthquake, and on the main road seen from the windows of the workplace, countless people walked silently to return home. I saw this calmness and thought that panic movies would not be a hit in Japan. Since that year, IGDA Japan has been supporting human resource development in Fukushima Prefecture.
Now we are facing new difficulties. Let’s face it, remembering the calm at that time.

2011年3月11日の東日本大震災が発生した瞬間、私は都内の職場にいました。
地震の影響で全ての電車が止まり、職場の窓から見える幹線道路には、帰宅する為に無数の人が黙々と歩く行列が見えました。
この冷静さを見て、日本ではパニック映画はヒットしないなと思ったものです。

あの年以降、IGDA日本では、福島GameJamだけでなく文部科学省事業への協力など、福島県の人材育成支援を継続しており、今後も継続していきます(1, 2, 3)。

今、私達は新たな困難に向き合っています。
あの時の冷静さを思い出して、粛々と立ち向かっていきましょう。
